CCT completes important Internet backbone upgrade

CCT announced today the completion of an important upgrade in its internet capacity between the BVI and its point of presence in the United States. The new capacity upgrade was completed on Sunday March 5 and customers should have already started to notice improvements in the quality and consistency of their internet services. Backbone capacity upgrades aim to improve service quality by adding additional capacity and to support future demands on CCT's two wireless Internet networks, EVDO and Wimax, the networks behind CCT's popular Internet services CCTnet, mobile internet services, and CCTmax, broadband internet service. This backbone capacity upgrade has been completed without affecting the service of current internet customers at any time.
Jose Luis Fernandez, CCT's General Manager was pleased to announce, "The number of CCT Internet customers has grown significantly over the past two years and we reached a point where the capacity on our networks needed to be increased. The additional capacity added will provide our existing customers with improved service quality and overall a better service experience, something that our customers should have already started to notice. Backbone capacity upgrades will also provide CCT the opportunity to continue adding new customers to our growing Internet base throughout the BVI".
