By D. ThomasCCT donates a portion of their revenue to help disaster victims rebuild their lives and their communities
Last Friday, following the catastrophic 7.0 earthquake that struck Haiti, CCT announced its pledge to match and donate to the Haiti Emergency Fund, every dollar collected from each in-store top up and top up recharges done at the Night Of Love Concert with Babyface and Sanchez.
With this donation, CCT joins the huge outpouring of international aid for the recovery efforts through monetary donations in many forms. “Our top up pledge last Friday grossed a donation of $14,000 which would be deposited later this week to a Haiti Emergency Fund bank account,” said CCT’s General Manager Jose Luis Fernandez. This donation is just the beginning of our aid efforts as we have created a special mobile number to involve the community’s generosity to show their love by dialing 1-284-440-3610 and text the word “Love”. Text messages are fifty cents each and for each text message sent, CCT will donate all proceeds to the Haiti Emergency Fund. CCT customers have the option of dialing the complete number or just dialing “Haiti” and then text the word “Love”. Each person’s participation in this drive will help disaster victims rebuild their lives and their communities.
Although this disaster has touched our hearts globally, we at CCT have been affected internally, as we have grave concerns to providing aid not only to the people as a community, but also to one of our employees who was caught in this disaster during her holiday vacation when this tragedy happened. We have made contact with the relatives of our employee and are providing assistance in her safe return to the BVI.
